Many trees let light flow through, so their young can grow. Shade trees grow a dense canopy that blocks most light from the undergrowth. Sometimes just a little bit of light (日) leaks through (漏れ) the trees (木) and creates a forest discotheque:
It’s 1979. In nightclubs in the big cities of the U.S. and Europe, people are dancing to disco songs, sung by black women for queer audiences, discovering themselves along the way.
glitter . sweat . drag . desire
pulsing . rhythm . expression
sex . multifariousness
Above them the disco ball spins, reflecting their colours back at them, creating unity in diversity, as “everyone sparkled for a moment.”
– D.A. Powell
According to Hindu scriptures, the whole world is dancing, as Nataraja dances it into being
creating . preserving . destroying . transforming
planets circle stars
Trees sway in the wind.
“every subatomic particle … is an energy dance; a pulsating process of creation and destruction.”
– Fritjof Capra
